I’m loving my new magnetic poetry set from Coyoteloon. I gave them as gifts to some special ladies in my life and got one for myself while I was at it. I figured it would be a fun little thing to have and didn’t give it much thought beyond that. But it has quickly become a loved morning ritual.
While I wait for the coffee to brew, I play around with the words and put some together. Sometimes just one line, sometimes a few. Sometimes I leave one line up for a few days and change the rest, and sometimes I change all of it.
Each morning, this practice gives me a little nudge out of my left brain, where I tend to stay firmly planted by default.
I can always find that few minutes, because the words are right there on the fridge, and the coffee is happening no matter what 😉
The first day, I wrote a message to my kids as well.
I decided to do it again the next day:
And the next:
And the next:
And on Christmas Eve:
They have fun making their own messages, too. (Added bonus—I swear my 5 year old is learning to read by doing this!)
Now my boys know to look under the red magnet for their daily message.
This practice prompts me to focus on heart-centered matters and start the day on a creative note. Which beats the hell out of using that time to check Facebook and email.
It’s another way to bless my children and love them up. And another way to start the day remembering how blessed I am to be their mom.

I love what Arjan put together! Very wise and Yoda-like. I’m sure this is helping him learn to read, which is so awesome as it’s at his own pace in his own way. You are doing a great job, Camille!
